RUMTSE TO TSOMORIRI TREK

The trek from Rumtse to Tsomoriri Lake is renowned for its distinctive characteristics, including expansive arid plains, the presence of Changpa nomads, elevated pasturelands, snow-capped mountains, and picturesque lakes. Commencing at Rumtse village, located at an altitude of 4,100 meters and approximately 70 kilometers from Leh, the route navigates several high passes and regions that serve as vital wildlife sanctuaries, home to snow leopards, wild asses, and diverse bird species, including the black-necked crane. The trek culminates at Tsomoriri Lake, positioned in the Changthang region, known as the "nomadic highland" in eastern Ladakh, near the Tibetan border, and recognized as one of the largest high-altitude lakes within the Trans-Himalayan bio-geographic area, entirely situated in India.

Day 01: Welcome at Leh Airport.
Day 02: Acclimatization at Leh.
Preparatory and acclimatization trek.
Day 03: Trek from Yangthang to Hemis-Shukpachen. (Mtrs ¾ hrs.)
Day 04: Hemis-Shukpachen to Tingmosgang. (Mtrs ¾ hrs.)
Day 05: Tingmosgang to Leh.
Day 05: Leh to Rumtse by Jeep.
Day 06: Trek From Rumtse to Chorten Sumdo. (4520 Mtrs 4/5 hrs.)
Day 07: Trek from Chorten Sumdo to Titsaling (4950 Mtrs 6/7 hrs.)
Day 08: Trek from Titsaling Pangunagu (4590 Mtrs 6/7 hrs.)
Day 09: Trek from Panganagu to Nuruchan. (4660 Mtrs 5/6 hrs.)
Day 10: Trek Nuruchan to Rachungkaru (4900 Mtrs 4/5 hrs.)
Day 11: Trek from Rachungkaru to Gyama (5180 Mtrs 5/6 hrs.)
Day 12: Trek from Gyama to Korzok (4620 Mtrs 6/7 hrs.)
Day 13: Tsomoriri Lake to Leh by Jeep (220 kms)
Day 14: Free day at Leh.
Day 15: Leh to Delhi by flight.
